Advanced Front Throws and Concepts
In this course we explore three advanced forward throwing concepts. One throw, Harai-Goshi, or the “sweeping hip”, is examined through two methods of entry and scenarios in which this throw can be useful. Another throw, Tai-Otoshi, or the “body drop”, is covered as a response to an aggressive attacker attempting to drive you back or take you down. These nage-waza, or throwing techniques, mesh with our previous “Street Applicable Ground Control Strategies” and allow you to take a technique from entry to takedown to fight finish seamlessly. Please be sure that all people who are participating in the practice of this technique can fall and roll at an advanced level as these techniques require very competent training partners to practice safely.
