Ever wonder what happened to me after I stopped writing the ninja book series in the early 1990s? Where I went once I slowed down my Japan trips and replaced them with trips to India, Nepal, and Tibet?
An amazing series of events brought me in contact with the Dalai Lama. I started traveling with him when he visited North America, serving in a security escort role. Those were the days before the US government afforded him State Department protection. (The Secret Service protects political rulers; the Dalai Lama as a ruler in exile does not qualify for Secret Service protection, but does receive State Department coverage). I have a lot of stories from those days that students have not heard.
Coincidentally, traveling with the Dalai Lama, I discovered an arcane Tibetan practice, hidden away from the public. It involved the use of an “elevated consciousness” – recognizing myself as Vajrakilaya, the commanding enlightened one who removes obstacles to smooth living and lead to the enlightened state. Vajrakilaya carries and wields a phurba dagger, a 3-edged blade with a ritual 3-headed handle that serves to defeat and convert obstacles that arise in life.
It took me 20 years and a string of changing teachers to discover what to do with that dagger. Along the way, I kept a series of notes for my own education. There was little in English to teach me how to use the dagger. The notes became a book, and now the 300+ page book is finally available to the public.
I chose to make it an ebook, in keeping up with latest publishing trends. There will be a hard cover edition, but that will be a very limited edition thing only available for a while. I will let you know when that book is available.
Want to explore the thunderbolt demon defeating dagger along with me? The book is now available through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and iBooks.
